Today is going to be a busy day. I have a bunch of errands to do, final grades for my summer class to determine, and laundry to do. Oh, and I should clean the house a little, so it doesn’t scare the BGF too much while she is staying here. All before I get to go here tomorrow!

This is the view from my Mom’s back deck. They have done a lot more to the property lately, so I need to get a new picture while I am there this time.

I am so excited to see my family. I know that I will get to see my mom and my two “littlest” brothers.

I am not sure if my other brother is going to come up too, but I know that I will get to see my grandmother.

And, we are even going to be able to slip up to PA to see these guys! We always have so much fun together. They are one of the many reasons that we are so excited about the possibility to get to move back to the East Coast!

I am going to miss all these guys like crazy, but I will be back soon!

And, I would miss him more than I can handle, so I am takin’ him with me! Well, that’s enough procrastinating from me. I will post updates while I am gone the best I can!

In May of this year, my BGF and I drove to Athens, Georgia for a conference. It was a cute little town, and we took the first afternoon we got there to explore. After walking around in the heat, it actually wasn’t that bad, for a while, we decided to sit and hang out in this gorgeous little park on their campus until the evening event. The setting was perfect, I had great afternoon light, and I thought that I would take some pictures.

I love my BGF, but she is the hardest person to take pictures of ever! It involves a huge process starting with this. “What? Why do you want to take a picture of me?”

After that, I get the funny faces. As if she is trying to discourage the picture taking. She should know my now that I am far more persistent than that.

Then we move onto the laughing, which is usually brought on by the funny faces and my responses to them. I am normally telling her what to do at this point. “NO, don’t look at me.” “Turn your head over there.” I can get a little bossy. And, she always responds to me just like you should when I get bossy. She laughs at me.

But, the reason I get bossy is this is what I am going for. One of those brief instances behind a camera that I can capture what I see everyday. I love this picture of her because it so completely her.

Occasionally, we can even get one of the two of us together!

This morning, my mother is leaving to go to China for 10 days. She has never left the country, so this is quite an adventure for her. She wanted to call me before she left, but we had been missing each other over the last week. So, this morning, she called….at 6am. She knew she would get me.

While I was on the phone with her, the hubby rolls over in bed and says:

Hubby: “Tell her I want a wall!”

Me: “Joe wants a wall.”

Mom: “A what? A wall?”

Hubby: “Yeah, I hear they have one of those over there.”

Mom: “Oh yeah, I hear it’s great.”

Gotta love it. This one conversation pretty much sums it all up.

Well, I have decided that I am going to write more. I am just going to do it. Stop talking, thinking, etc about what to write about, just get the information out there. Today, I got a new job, and I am really excited about it. It is working for a bookstore in town, something that I have always wanted to do. However, this is even cooler because it is a used bookstore, and they have cats that hang out in the store. The other good thing is that I am going to be able to work with the actual book pricing, which I find really interesting. Apparently, they have a great deal of books that they keep online, the stuff that is worth a little more, and I am actually going to get to help keep everything moving through. I know that it sounds somewhat dorky to those of you that are actually going to be reading this, but I think that it sounds delightful.

On another note, I have decided that I completely and totally love Chicago. And, in a completely different way than I love San Francisco. SF is awesome because it is so close to the water, and I love the way that everything is sunny and crisp. But, the city is dirty, and the areas that I wasn’t as comfortable in quickly invaded the space that I felt that I wanted to be in. However, with Chicago, that overlap between space wasn’t the same. Maybe I have been in the Midwest too long, but I really liked the way that it was a Midwest city. The people didn’t completely crowd you as you walked down the street, and the streets were clean for the most part. Joe and I are already talking about when we might be able to go back. And, that says a lot coming from him, since he completely doesn’t dig big cities.

Oh well, off to bed. Not nearly as much was accomplished today as I had hoped. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

**Grateful Thought: I love the way that Paige looks and smells when she is all cuddled up and asleep in my arms. It is almost as intoxicating as puppy breath!
