About Me
Nov 12th, 2008 by S. Anderson
So, after three years and 100 blog posts, I have decided I needed an About Me page. So, here is what you need to know about me.
Where I live:
I live just outside Washington DC in Woodbridge, VA. I grew up in this area, so I was really excited that the Army sent us back here in the summer of 2009.
What I do for work:
I teach English at the college level, and my faborite thing to teach is technical writing. I love what I do, even though the grading practically kills me every semester!
Right now, I am also going back to school for an Art History masters. I would love to be able to supplement my English courses with an intro art history or art appreciation class. I also am interested in working towards a PhD in English, and I hope this MA will help me be best prepared for that possibility.
What I like to do for fun:
As you might be able to tell from all I have posted here, I love to sew. I am completely self-taught, and that shows on some projects more than others. I don’t really like patterns and use what other people have done as ideas for my own stuff.
I read a ton of blogs everyday, and I gain so much information from the others in the online crafting community. I hope to someday open an etsy shop of my own, but that would require more time to craft than I have right now. But, who knows what will happen in the future. I also have a dream to someday open the ultimate crafting store. It would be an amazing place!
In addition to sewing, I am a closet scrapbooker and jewelry maker. And, I would love to learn how to make lampwork beads.
I also love to spend time with my family, friends, and our many, many animals.
Everything Else:
You can contact me at sandy.anderson [at] mac.com if you ever have any questions! I would love to hear from you!
