You know that I was opposed to him, and you know that it was more based on the Democratic Party's ideas of big government. This election was about much more than the presidency though. Hopefully all the hate-mongers can be open minded long enough to give President-elect Obama a chance. Hopefully they will trust him until they can't. I'm still weary and apprehensive of what this means for our military, especially since it affects you and me. At this point, I think that we all need to support him, whether we voted for him or not. Obama is a deep thinking man who makes decisions carefully and who is open to, and genuinely listens to, opposing views. Not to mention he was a constitutional law professor. I trust someone with that level of knowledge of the document that our country was founded on to run our country. I am beyond thrilled to finally have someone in the white house I feel truly represents me. And all that without even mentioning how ground breaking and wonderful it is that our country has healed it's scars enough to elect a black man. As he would say: Change has come to America.
